Join Hands With Bal Sarathi
Bal Sarathi would like to join hands with the society, GOs, (I) NGOs, External Development Partners (EDPs) and other organizations in the implementation of the above programs. We believe that this would provide opportunities for the sharing of knowledge and skills and for mutual learning and capacity building.
A Small Step By Bal Sarathi
Since its establishment, Bal Sarathi has been conducting literacy, health and hygiene classes for the disadvantaged and marginalized children. Recently, Bal Sarathi has got Government’s approval for the establishment of formal school from Grade Nursery to Grade Five. Of 100 children at Bal Sarathi. As part of SHNP, all children are provided with free nutritious mid-day meal which is very important for the overall development of the children. “Free Health Camps” have been integrated as a regular program for mass deworming, iron tablets distribution, regular health check-up etc for the children of Bal Sarathi as well as local communities.
Target group
The primary target group of the Bal Sarathi programs are children of 4-18 years of age, ,who can’t afford to attend school or any formal schooling due to poverty, migration, conflict and parent’s neglect and incapacity. The children who resort to begging alms, donations, free lunches and unwanted activities like sex trade, drug abuse etc at the Pashupati and Guheswori areas (religious sites) and elsewhere for meeting their and their siblings hand to mouth problems.
SHNP targets school children of Bal Sarathi as well as that of other schools. In Bal Sarathi’s programs, marginalized and disadvantaged communities will also have high priority.
